What is Two Thread Fabric?
RL is obtained on single plate circular knitting machines with needle and lock arrays. It is usually formed by putting two threads (ground thread and lining thread) that differ from each other in number to the same needle. Lining yarn is generally thick, voluminous and suitable for raising. It is beneficial that the thickness of the lining yarn is twice the thickness of the ground yarn.
Two yarn fabrics are also known as knitted lining. The name known in the market is defined as two yarn knitted fabric. It is produced on RL single plate circular knitting machines by arranging needles and locks. It is obtained by giving two threads different in number to the same needle. That is, ground yarn and lining yarn are used together. Lining yarns are thick and suitable for cordoning. The lining yarn should be twice as thick as the ground yarn. These fabrics, which are used with or without shroud, are used in the production of garments such as sweat, hooded cardigan, bottom and top tracksuits.
 
Properties of Two Yarn Fabrics;
Two yarn fabrics are produced on single plate circular knitting machines and are used with loop-hanger-skip knitting elements. It generally has the following features:
The front and back faces are different from each other,
They are thick fabrics and used in the spring season,
They are not preferred as summer fabric,
Since it has high stain-retaining properties, it should be used carefully.
When knitted with Lycra, its flexibility is quite good.
